Mark Matehaere - Director
Mark is a Director and co-founder of Ellington Savage whose executive recruitment career spans more than twenty years, with a strong focus on the financial services sector. Prior to his recruitment career, Mark completed his Bachelor of Laws and MBA at the University of Otago in New Zealand before initial roles in sales and marketing in the manufacturing, travel and media sectors. Mark remains actively involved in the completion of senior and complex search assignments for clients across a range of industries.
Paul Hannaford - Director
Paul is a Director of Ellington Savage and one of its two founders. Paul has over 20 years of recruitment experience, more than 17 of them with Ellington Savage. He concentrates on the more senior and complex assignments for clients in a diverse portfolio, typically using executive search, and manages a number of key client relationships. Prior to moving into recruitment, Paul served ten years in the finance sector, latterly in human resources.
Matthew Roome - Senior Consultant
Matthew has been a senior consultant with Ellington Savage since 2007, having previously been Head of Research for the business for more than seven years. Matthew has worked across the full range of assignments we have undertaken in that time, gaining exposure to an array of industries and disciplines. Prior to joining Ellington Savage Matthew was working with another Sydney-based recruiter, where he established a contact centre recruitment business. He started his career in direct marketing and contact centres in the United Kingdom before relocating to Sydney.
Matthew holds an Upper Second Class Honours in History & Political Science from the University of York, UK.
Amelia Arena - Senior Consultant
Amelia is a consultant within Ellington Savage. Since joining in 2006, Amelia has focused on Financial Services and she has led a number of successful appointments across a variety of disciplines including Sales, HR, Technology and Risk. Amelia commenced her career in the recruitment industry with a listed recruitment company as a consultant within the Banking and Finance practice. Prior to her career in recruitment, Amelia worked as an Analyst with ANZ’s Institutional Bank.
Amelia holds a Bachelor of Business from the University of Technology, Sydney.
Sara Marshall - Head of Research
Sara is Head of Research at Ellington Savage. Before moving to Australia she gained over 10 years recruitment and training experience in London, working for both a leading recruitment company and a US investment bank where she ran the European graduate recruitment and training programmes. Sara joined the Ellington Savage Group in 2000 and has worked across a wide range of projects and disciplines within Australia and Internationally, as Research Associate and Consultant. Sara holds an MA in Modern History and Languages from Oxford University.
Joe Lyons - Research
Joe joined the Ellington Savage Group early in 2008 after relocating from the UK. With a background in marketing, Joe brought an ideal skill set for research and also had the advantage of exposure to a variety of industries and sectors. A member of the Sydney-based research team, Joe plays a vital role supporting both the domestic and international elements to our search work, though his primary focus is on the identification and profiling of candidates in Australia and New Zealand.
